zipis1 as per her request of Inuyasha&Sango friendship fic. I rather like this even if it is a shorter fic. Hope you do too.
Unexpected
She never imagined she’d work so seamlessly with a demon, especially a half-demon like Inuyasha. She had been so convinced in the beginning that he was the reason her father and brother had died a senseless death. She had been so certain that he deserved to die.
She had nearly killed herself to make that happen.
Now, they strode side by side along the same path in life, fighting demons and looking for revenge against the real half-demon that had killed her family and for Inuyasha, Kikyo. Who could have foreseen that they could fight so well together?
She smiled to herself as she listened to her companion’s often terse comments and insults and Kagome’s equally as heated rejoinders. Tears glistened momentarily in her eyes at the sight of the family which had sprung up to ease her loss even if Kohaku still lived a half-life. They were there for her, and at the core of their group was a half-demon. He drove them forward, often to exhaustion. He refused to admit defeat and gave them a will to continue on.
For Sango, her greatest honor was being given the chance to fight the hanyou and lived to receive his and his companions’ forgiveness. She was glad she could make a friend of her enemy, a friend that would last a lifetime.
