Title: Skylarks, Swallows and Sparrows
Day/Theme: 6 January / Ambiguity

Skylarks, Swallows and Sparrows
Tsubame:
The Swallow snaps open her fan, peering over the gilded edge with sharp eyes that see far, flies far. She is the first defense and the simplest. Her voice flies swiftly, piercing the heart of those they choose to play with; Shouko is easy to anger, even at a distance. Tsubame turns outward, vigilant against retaliation.
Hibari:
The Skylark shines brightly, her voice rising and falling in glorious detail. Her song is spellbinding and soars high with command. Her followers would do anything to hear that voice in the morning, bright and fresh. To Shouko, that voice grates on her ears and the Skylark is but a pinprick of color floating high in the sky and out of reach.
It does not keep her from trying to catch it.
Suzume:
The Sparrow descends, blocking Shouko's view of the Skylark. She is the last defense and has the sharpest beak. It is meant for breaking shells and is accurate at seeking at the tiniest crack in Shouko's armor. Always, the Sparrow knows her weakness; Shouko loses all common sense when enraged.
It is their game.
Shouko:
Bruised and battered, Shouko smiles as the butterfly triplet laughter echoes behind their flitting forms. Their rivalry was a sport she dearly loved and their barbs cruel and sharp. They were a mystery, these birds of a feather. They had such simple games, but Shouko could not shake a feeling. Were they more then they appeared? Did they have a purpose in acquiring human form? Spirits walked freely in Kamitsumihara, but why these three?
It was a mystery she was determined to uncover.
Looking down at her hands covered in pear juice, Shouko wondered why they used such common, everyday things to wage war against her.
It was going to be another eventful school year.
